Randolph Gratton

Role:
Head of Campaigns and Partnerships
Profile:

Randolph is a Sales and Alliance Director, with 9 years of experience with IBM, 15 years with Hewlett-Packard and 6 years running his own business.  After obtaining his degree in Computer Science and Mathematics, Randolph initially trained in systems engineering and then in sales with IBM, following a classic IBM sales and account management career, which culminated in managing the up-stream oil sector for IBM UK.  Moving to Hewlett-Packard in California, Randolph then focused on partnerships and alliances; he developed HP’s 'Advanced Technology Business' group, which created leading edge business solutions with technology from HP’s Blue Sky Labs and strategic partners.  He went on to create and lead HP's worldwide SME partnership programme, 'Recruit-to-Win', which generated $1Bn in new business.  The culmination of Randolph’s career in HP was his role as the worldwide director of the $1.7Bn HP/BT alliance.

Randolph left HP to form Max Associates, which focuses on providing interim directorships in sales and marketing, contracts to develop new markets through collaboration and guiding SMEs in creating mutually beneficial strategic alliances with multi-national companies.  In addition, as a qualified business coach and mentor, Randolph has helped to grow and develop specialised alliance management, joint-go-to-market sales and account management talent.

Randolph has worked for both the University of Plymouth Business School, to help develop start-up companies as an Entrepreneur in Residence, and for the University of Exeter Business School, as Head of Partnerships.
