With multiple sold out performances held on Halloween night, the Walking Dread Zombie Experience, which toured the spooky corridors of John Keay House in St Austell, was deemed a ‘terrifying’ but terrific experience.

Acting students from Cornwall College St Austell put on a nightmare-inducing performance, which its audience will never forget.

Janice Coon, who wrote on the event’s Facebook page shortly after experiencing the show, said;

“I had convinced myself there was no way I was going to be running away from Zombies, but I was like Usain Bolt running past the A level center. The atmosphere was brilliant, the Zombies were truly frightening and the make up so realistic - I genuinely felt anxious but enjoyed every minute of it!”

 Lucy Slack also took part in the walk, commented on how “amazing” and “epic” the experience was.

“We went to the Walking Dead experience at Thorpe Park this year and this was more exciting than that as there was a real story to it - we’ll be back again next year for sure,” she added.

Acting Lecturer Karen Burdon said the acting students were “magnificent”, but they were outshone by the fantastic audience members;

“They shrieked and screamed their way along the route with fearful delight! We’ve never carried out a project like this before and the students had so much fun, gained so much experience and invested so much in it that we’re already thinking about next year!”

With many of the thrill seeking audience already rating this as a 5-star experience it looks like the Zombies could be ‘rising’ again next Halloween!
