DCBC comes of age - and looks towards the future

Devon and Cornwall Business Council have their 15th anniversary this year, and celebrated the occasion at their prestigious “Annual Dinner” event, which took place at Dartington Hall on 20th October, 2016.

Over 100 of the region’s business leaders joined DCBC to celebrate at this event.

With much focus on the future, Ben Rhodes, Chief Executive of Devon and Cornwall Business Council said “We would like to thank all of our members and partners for their support of DCBC during the last 15 years. We are hugely proud of what we have collectively achieved and influenced over the last 15 years and look forward to continuing to work collaboratively to capitalise on future opportunities and address future challenges over the next 15 years.”

Congratulations go to three of DCBC’s members who won the following awards:

BT - Joint Longest Serving Sponsor
Elixel - DCBC’s 100th Member

The event also saw the formal launch of a unique collaboration, that will benefit learners and employers across the Devon county. City College Plymouth, Exeter College, Petroc and South Devon College are setting up the Devon Colleges Group, a partnership with a shared vision focussed on enhancing skills, raising aspirations and driving regional economic growth and productivity. The “Devon Colleges Group”, were a key sponsor of the DCBC Annual Dinner.

Special thanks at the event also went to Dartington Hall for hosting the event, Rimma Seklani, Student at the Plymouth College of Art for the the design on all event material, Honest Coffee’s for their kind donation of coffee gifts for each guest, and James Stoner for the event photography.

Guests raised £1000 for DCBC’s nominated charity, Dame Hannah Rogers Trust, during a prize draw with prizes generously donated by Great Western Railway, Bond Dickinson and Dartington Hall.
