- CCB (Cornwall College Business) NEBOSH delegates achieve results well above national average
- · Enables delegates to manage risk effectively and safely in the workplace
(CORNWALL: 12/04/17): CCB (Cornwall College Business) course delegates have proved they are top of the class by achieving results well above the national average on a recent health and safety course.
Successfully completing the NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) course, held at Cornwall College St Austell, results in a general certificate that is the most widely held health and safety qualification in the UK.
It helps managers, supervisors and employees to manage risk effectively and safely, and can help businesses to avoid prosecution, litigation, absence costs as well as loss of reputation.
Imerys Senior De-Commissioning Engineer, Lee Allen, who attended the course said it was “pretty intense with a lot to take in over the 12 days”.
“The novel teaching method used by Chris Bate and Chris Hastings, where the delegate’s research and present information, I feel, was very influential in my eventual success,” he added.
Nigel Southall, a Technical Writer for A&P Falmouth agreed, adding he hadn’t been to college for 30 years “so this wasn’t going to be easy”.
“The trainers, Chris and Chris were excellent, they played a large part for me personally with regards to understanding what exactly was required, there was a huge amount of information to absorb but they broke it down into chunks that were understandable. I passed all three modules so they were doing something right!”
CCB Training Manager, Chris Bate, said: “The NEBOSH General Certificate is a challenging Level 3 course that gives a broad understanding of health and safety issues, and is often the first step towards a career in health and safety. Delegates enjoy a tremendous sense of achievement once completed, plus it’s a great step towards the Level 6 NEBOSH National Diploma, where employers can benefit from having qualified health and safety professionals in their workplace”.
