Dave Ratcliffe

DCBC Statutory Board Member

As well as being Interim CEO for DCBC, Dave Ratcliffe is a Non-Executive Director for several South West based businesses in the technology and healthcare sectors. Dave has worked in IT for 37 years.

Dave qualified as a Company and Commercial Accountant in 1976 and changed to a career in IT in 1980, taking a variety of roles in Central Government from Software Engineer to drafting International Standards for elements of the X.500 protocol before moving to BT in 1996.

In the mid 1990’s Dave led the implementation of the Jobseekers Allowance network – covering Benefit Offices and Job Centres across the UK and more recently was Programme Director for an International network rollout for Reuters, before taking a role of Head of Procurement for BT Americas.

Dave is a Fellow of the British Computer Society and a Chartered IT Professional and runs his own consultancy business specialising in Procurement, Project Initiation and Review. 

Dave cares passionately about

  • The treatment of “the invisible” – people who fall below the sight-line of society because they don’t conform to the norms.
  • Equality for people – I feel strongly about factional groups, including women’s networks and other groups that self-segregate
  • Dave is a keen motorcyclist and father of two grown up children.
